Americký pisničkář Bob Dylan dostal dnes Nobelovu cenu za literaturu. Legenda světového folku a rocku již pětapadesat let vytváří texty, které si zasloužily nejvyšší ocenění.
Pětasedmdesátiletý Bob Dylan, vlastním jménem Robert Allen Zimmermann, působí na světové hudební scéně zhruba od svých dvaceti let. Proslavil se svým typickým hlasem, který má možná daleko do "zlatých slavíků" rocku a popu, ale možná o to vice dodává jeho hudbě na přesvědčivosti. Vybavíme si ho jako rozcuchaného tmavovlasého mladíka s kytarou a foukací harmonikou na ní upevněnou, kterak hraje na oba nástroje najednou. Ale především ho známe jako tvůrce vynikajících textů, které de facto jsou zpívanými básněmi - a právě jako takové je nyní ocenila Švédská akademie. Na Nobelovu cenu za literaturu byl navrhován v posledních dvaceti letech již vícekrát, dosud se ale nezdálo příliš pravděpodobné, že by byl zvolen umělec, kterého veřejnost vnímá spíše jako hudebníka.
Dylan se významnou měrou podílel na utváření světové kultury, ovlivnil generace umělců po něm. Ve známost vešly zejména jeho protestsongy, tolik aktuální v neklidných 60. letech a v období války ve Vietnamu. Jeho tvorba se dočkala četných coververzí, některé jeho písně jako Blowin' In The Wind, Times They Are A-Changin' či Knockin' On Heavens Door téměř zlidověly.
